BLUENOSE SLOOP

 

At the request of a group of members from the Armdale Yacht Club in Halifax, Nova Scotia, William J. Roué, the same designer as the schooner Bluenose, created the design for this fast and elegant sloop in 1945.

Hull #80 was built in 1985 and totally refurbished by Transom Boat Works.  The restoration was completed in August 2008.

New bilge stringers, cockpit sole and seating, deck, boom, mast step, rudder, coamings, rails and trim. 

Repaired original mast and transom.

New bronze hardware added in keeping with her traditional

and classic look.

LOA: 23'5"

Beam: 6'3"

Draft: 3'8 "

Displacement: 2050 lbs.

Sails: main, genoa, 2 jibs

Construction/Finish Details: pine over oak hull painted dark blue,

non-skid decks painted sandstone, red antifouling bottom paint,

douglas fir mast and boom, angelique coamings, mast step, seats

and trim.  Bronze hardware.
