Under New Ownership

Pemaquid Marine is under new ownership, purchased by the founder of Transom Boat Works formerly located in Nova Scotia.  Ted is experienced in the construction, restoration, repair and maintenance of both traditional wood and fiberglass boats.  He will continue this work at Pemaquid Marine, along with new construction and service of the yard's signature boat, the Banks Cove 22.  To see what he's been up to in Nova Scotia, please visit www.transomboatworks.com.

Come meet Ted and some of the crew of Pemaquid Marine at the Boat Builders Festival in Boothbay on August 1 and the Maine Boats Homes & Harbors Show in Rockland August 13-15.

Getting to know Pemaquid Marine
Pemaquid Marine is a full service yard located in mid-coast Maine in the quiet village of New Harbor, on the Pemaquid Penninsula.  Pemaquid Marine was created to provide uncompromising quality while fulfilling our commitments to owners and their boats.  Our high quality work is backed by a no-excuses policy that has been key to our growth. We try to make every boat owner feel as if he or she has the only boat in the yard.  To date, we have met every launch date on time and guarantee your satisfaction after you are on the water.

Everyone at Pemaquid Marine is a boat owner. We truly understand the mechanics and performance of a boat. We realize the need for a yard that will commit to meeting individual needs regardless of the size or cost of the boat or the project.   Most importantly, they understand how to build and repair your boat while retaining a yacht quality level of finish. This philosophy carries through whether the crew is working on a classic vintage boat or your dinghy

We follow a philosophy of green marine to help protect our workers and local envirnoment.  All our used motor oil is recycled locally.  Mineral spirits, our primary paint thinner, are clarified through a series of stps allowing us to reuse it as many as three times.  Our dust collection system enables us to provide dust free finish work along with providing a safe work envirnoment for our employees.  We try to keep the environmental impact of marine work at a minimum in our community and provide a safe environment for those who work at the yard.
We keep abreast of the latest technology and information by providing our employees with ongoing training and professional development.  This enables them to be more effective and efficient, saving our owners time and money.
